Commissioning person-centred care: a simulation
This half day simulation gave participants an opportunity to walk through the commissioning process through a simulation set at a CCG Commissioning Challenge Event.
Participants took on the roles of commissioners, clinicians, voluntary and community sector organsiations, patients, public health and social care managers, and were set a challenge to put forward an idea for a Living Well Programme in a fictional local area.
Through the workshop participants:
- Explored an approach to commissioning person centred care through interactive group work
- Developed an understanding of the barriers to implementation unlocked through scenario-based learning
- Developed a plan for their local context drawing on the practical knowledge and experience gained from trying out innovative approaches
The simulation was hosted at the Bromley-by-Bow Centre in Tower Hamlets, which is an innovative community organisation with a strong focus on health and wellbeing.
